“We started looking for solutions because we were having a lot of problems keeping employees,” says Pam Ahlers, CPA. “We had known someone who had used Sterling and they had good things to say.
“So we called up Sterling and went out for the training; we definitely enjoyed it. The best thing about it was that so much of it was like common sense, but you don’t think about it and don’t apply it. Sterling pulled it all together, as to what you should do and what you should not do.
“The Basic Staff Hat – a pack of material that gives the basics of what every staff member needs to know to do his or her job – helped us put things together that made a difference right away.
“We also got people to write up their job descriptions and using a system of written dispatches, and we started preparing a procedure manual for the whole office,” says Ms. Ahlers.
“But the most important thing was to sort out our personnel scene,” she says. “We have been having new people take the personnel tests and now I feel confident we have a staff that we can keep, that we can work with. Now we have a situation where we can really grow!”
