Kevin Wilson
Chairman and CEO Sterling Management
While today Kevin is widely recognized as one of the most influential people in the US in the field of practice management, his career began on a more modest note.
Kevin grew up on a farm in rural Kentucky, and enrolled as a pre-med student at Western Kentucky University. After being introduced to Hubbard Management Technology in 1976, Kevin knew he had found something different, and left university to pursue what would ultimately become a life-long career devoted to helping businesses succeed.
A trip to Cincinnati the following year would bring more changes to Kevin’s life, not the least of which was meeting Barbara, the woman who would become his wife, his business partner for four decades, and the mother of his five children.
In June, 1977, at age 21, Kevin was asked to take over an insolvent non-profit organization in the Midwest. Applying the technology and tools of Hubbard Management, he turned around the failing organization, bringing it to solvency within nine months.
Seeing the results he was able to achieve, Kevin left the medical career path and immersed himself in further study of Hubbard Management basics, with a rigorous training program in Organization, Finance, Personnel, Promotion and more. It was not just study. The program included practical exercises that demanded the successful real-world application of the materials, something that would later become integral to the success of the Sterling Management program.

In 1984, Kevin and Barbara relocated to Southern California. Kevin took on a consultant position at Sterling Management, a young company at the time, that had newly achieved iconic status in the application of Hubbard Management technology to the dental field, turning around and expanding the practices of dental professionals across the US.
Within a few short weeks of joining the company, Kevin was promoted to Senior Vice President, spearheading a reorganization of operations to increase market share and efficiency. This move doubled Sterling Management’s expansion.
In 1988, Kevin bought Sterling Management from its founder and stepped into the CEO position. In the two years following his acquisition of the company, Kevin tripled its growth, twice landing the company on Inc. magazine’s list of the 500 fastest growing privately held companies in the US.
While serving as Sterling Management’s Chairman and CEO, Kevin has frequently been the company’s featured speaker at its regional workshops for Sterling clients. He has delivered hundreds of seminars on boosting staff productivity and motivation, streamlining workflow, organizing for increased efficiency, financial planning, marketing, sales and much more.
In 2010, Kevin wrote and published Personnel: Your Most Valuable Resource or Greatest Burden, with industry-specific editions for accountants, dentists, healthcare professionals and small business owners.
Kevin recently passed the 30-year mark as Sterling Management’s Chairman and CEO.
With Kevin at the helm, Sterling Management has garnered over 80 local, national and international awards for production, expansion and goodwill.
Today Kevin resides in La Cañada with his wife Barbara, where they are fortunate to spend time with their five children and three grandchildren.
